Letter from Mrs. Meck
HSA Fort Worth Parents and Families,
We are in the final days of this year, and they are a busy few days. Here is a rundown of the events.
Friday, May 19, is Field Day. Kindergarten – 2nd grade from 8 am – 10:30 am, 3rd – 5th grade from 11 am – 1:30 pm. If you plan to attend Field Day, you must sign in as a visitor through the Front Office and wear your badge all day. To speed up the process, you can complete the Fast Pass below. Your badge will be ready when you arrive in the lobby. You must have signed in this year to get a fast pass.
Monday, May 22, is PBA day. The students use their PBA points from the school year to “purchase” different prizes. Some options are slime making, ice cream making, soccer, dodgeball, movie, board games, shaving Mr. Ragsdale’s head, and more! This will be an event that is for students only. Parents will not attend this event.
Wednesday, May 24, is the Senior Walk and Fourth Grade Field Trip. The seniors, fifth graders, and kindergarteners will walk around the building together at 8:30 am. This is an HSA/HSI tradition. We sometimes have siblings that get to walk together! You can join us and stand in the front hall to cheer on the graduates. You must sign in, so use the fast pass below or come early with your ID. The fourth graders will walk to little people’s Park after the senior walk to enjoy some time there.
Thursday, May 25, is Graduation Day! The kindergarteners will have graduation at 8:00 am. They must arrive no later than 7:30 am so that teachers can get them in their caps and gowns. There will be refreshments after the ceremony. The fifth graders will be going to Little People Park in the morning and celebration at 1 pm in the gym. Parents can attend the 1 pm ceremony with refreshments after. All visitors must sign in. You can use the fast pass or arrive early with your ID.
Friday, May 26, is the last day of school and early release. All classrooms will have an End of Year breakfast that parents can join. Students will enjoy breakfast with their class and say their goodbyes for the summer. School lets out at 12: 30 pm.
It’s a lot going on most important thing is to be prepared to stand in lines if you do not fill out the fast pass for each event you are attending. The front doors on the left will be for fast passes and the right will be for scanning your ID.
As always thank you for giving myself and the HSA FW staff the opportunity to be apart of your scholars education this year. We look forward to seeing many familiar faces next year.
Thank you,
Mrs. Meck
Principal

Summer Slide
Have you heard of the summer slide?
Summer break is typically a time for kids to kick back, indulge in a little extra screen time, play outside, and embrace the kind of freedom that only comes with being young and having zero responsibilities. However, all of this free time can lead to the summer slide, a regression in academic proficiency due to summer break, and experts warn it is hindering kids’ progress when they head back to school (Scholastic.com).
For more information on why this is so important, visit this helpful site from Scholastic Parents.
